Woolgoolga Heritage Walk
The Woolgoolga Heritage Walk comprises 16 historically themed panels along a route between “Top Town” on River Street and Woolgoolga Beach Reserve. The community project was initiated, driven and managed by the Rotary Club of Woolgoolga, which also secured the bulk of the funding through a Community Building Partnership grant from the State Government, and a bush dance. Supplementary funding was from Woolgoolga Lions and Woolgoolga & Northern Beaches Chamber of Commerce. From the beginning, the project included these and other community organisations and individuals.
The content of 13 of the panels was researched, developed and finalised by a small community team of non-Rotarians and Rotarians. Coffs Harbour City Council worked with the Sikh and indigenous communities on the remaining 3 panels, and contributed graphic design, landscape design, brochure design, and mapping.
