It’s raining golf balls! (20 Oct)

Event: 20 October 2013

Next weekend at the golf course at Safety Beach, you can witness something unique: one thousand golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter!

Each golf ball has been numbered, each number corresponding to a $5 ticket (5 for $20), and nearest the pin wins $500 ($200 cash plus $300 Coles gift voucher); runners up win Precision Helicopter sightseeing flights.

Proceeds will go to a range of programs for local youth provided by Woolgoolga Rotary. This quirky fundraiser will help the club put on the annual driver awareness day (RYDA), and fund “Getting Out There Day” to prepare for life after school, training & development scholarships, sponsorships for summer-schools or science & engineering programs, public speaking competitions, Model UN Assembly teams, and school speech day awards.

Golf ball drop tickets are available at Woolgoolga Returned Services Golf Club Safety Beach, Woolgoolga Newsagency, Woolgoolga Post Office, or phone 0410 039 805 or 6654 7700 to order tickets. If you want, you can play in the golf Ambrose in the morning (register with the golf club first!), and the drop itself will happen on Sunday 20 Oct at 2pm.
